#Castello di Guarene
To begin with, the Castle of Guarene is a stunning venue for your wedding in Italy. A timeless and refined fortress perched on a hill overlooking the Langhe region. Between Monferrato and Roero, it is a vineyard area a few kilometres from the centre of Alba – the truffle village. In a word, the Castello is an ancient, regal and majestic 18th-century manor house, a clear manifestation of Piedmontese baroque, surrounded by a beautiful Italian-style garden.
It was right in the garden of this splendid building that our lovely couple, Rachel and Federico, decided to have their wedding ceremony. Given that, the area, already luxuriant, has been enriched with beautiful floral decorations in shades of green and white. Elegant white chairs had flower compositions at their feet, and in the centre of the garden, a large arch framed the newlyweds.
After the vows and the exchange of rings in the beautiful outdoor area, the event continued in the sumptuous indoor hall. Equally important for the general ambiance, the round tables have been set up with an elegant mise en place: underplates decorated with green and white flowery patterns.
Adding an extra touch to the regal ambiance was the nine-vaulted bare brick ceiling supported by tall pillars, the ancient paintings of Piedmontese landscapes over the walls, and the pictures of distinguished men from the House of Savoy and the House of Roero which adorned the hall.

#Rachel and Federico
To begin with, Federico, a groom of Italian origin, and Rachel, a very sweet bride from New York, came all the way from far away and chose Guarene Castle as the magical place to exchange their promises of eternal love.
#The wedding menu
In addition to the beauty of the location and the gracefulness of our couple, the wedding menu, prepared in great collaboration between the chef of Guarene Castle and Chef Maurilio from Ciau del Tornavento, was much appreciated.
Above all, tasty wines and delicious Piedmontese food.
Here’s what the guests had the pleasure to savour in June last year:
Chef’s Signature Appetizer:
Black cuttlefish cappuccino, potato fondant, Enkir crisp, lettuce, and basil pesto drops
Black cuttlefish cooked in ink, served with potato foam, pesto droplets, and enkir flour bread.
Wine pairing: Sauvignon friulano di Herban
First Course:
Agnolotti del Plin ai tre arrosti all’olio di Riviera. An iconic dish from Piedmont, agnolotti del plin gets its name from the regional dialect for ‘pinch,’ which is how the dumpling is made by pinching pasta to create pouches.
Roasted meat dumplings served with oil from the Ligurian Riviera.
Wine pairing: Nebbiolo roero carossa
Second course:
Homage to the Piemontese breed: veal chateaubriand, mustard sauce, coarse salt grains and summer vegetables
Fassona Veal chateaubriand cooked over charcoal, served with a mustard sauce, salt grains and seasonal vegetables. Fassona Veal is a local delicacy, a Piedmontese cattle breed with especially lean and tender meat
Wine pairing: Barbaresco di sottimano
