The celebration began with a welcome pizza party at Villa Sole, perched on the hills and overlooking the bay.
As the sun dipped into the sea, the atmosphere turned instantly warm and intimate. Fresh pizza baked on the spot, live bruschetta preparation with sweet Ligurian tomatoes and fragrant basil. And a carefully curated DJ set created the perfect mood. Meanwhile, soft tones, rattan chandeliers, and a natural color palette framed the space. Aromatic local plants, lemons, tomatoes, and chili peppers added character. As a result, the evening felt like a true Italian pizza party: authentic, refined, and never cliché.
A Waterfront Ceremony with an Organic Soul
The wedding day unfolded at La Fortezza di Finale Ligure, a dramatic panoramic wedding venue in Italy overlooking the coast. Because of the couple’s deep bond with this place, the design followed an organic and intentional direction. Natural materials and earthy tones guided the entire concept. Texture played a central role.
The journey began with the bride’s love for the Bird of Paradise flower, a bold and sculptural bloom that also grows locally. From there, the palette came to life through rattan and bamboo textures, beige and cream tones, and earthy glassware at the table. Even the stationery reflected this vision, crafted from unbleached cotton paper.
The ceremony itself broke all conventions. Instead, it became a deeply emotional and unconventional waterfront ceremony in Italy, guided by gypsy-inspired music and a celebrant who truly knew the couple. Their vows felt spontaneous and sincere. Most importantly, the wedding rings told a powerful story; as the bride designed and forged them herself, making the moment even more meaningful.
A Bold Celebration and a Perfect Farewell
Then, came one of the most surprising moments of the weekend. Before the cake cutting the bride cut her long hair into a short bob. The gesture stunned everyone, including the groom. After that, the party continued late into the night, filled with energy, laughter, and celebration. The following day, guests gathered again for a relaxed late lunch at Hotel Punta Est, the couple’s favorite spot. Because really, who can wake up early for brunch?
